2009
REUNION
INFORMATION
(tentative)
Thursday
April 2, 2009
As is our tradition the 2009 reunion is
scheduled for the Thursday evening just
prior to April Conference.
If you have questions, comments or
suggestions please feel free to email the
family organization volunteers at:
secretary@abcfo.org.
2008 Reunion Resolutions:
At the conclusion of the 2008
Reunion gathering, the following resolutions were discussed:
-
Draft a formal statement of
purposes and objectives for continuing the Anson Bowen Call Family
Organization (ABCFO) on into the future.
-
Form a governing body of family member
volunteers who will then oversee carrying out of the various
organization purposes and objectives.
-
Legally organize so contributions will
be tax deductable.
-
The governing board should meet at
least quarterly.
The following purposes were suggested:
-
Sponsor and carry out genealogical
research.
-
Perform ordinance work for our
ancestors.
-
Gather, annotate, restore, make
available, and preserve family pictures, histories, journals and
other records.
-
Facilitate acquaintances between
relatives.
Apparently the current
organization bylaws (wheresoever they might be found)
declare that a newly-elected organization president shall
serve for two years; the first year as president-elect along
with the previously-elected president, and the second as the
actual president, along with a new president-elect.
Ara Jr., this year's acting
president (in Eran's absence), has agreed to stay on
board as our
2008-09 family organization acting president, as long as
others are willing to volunteer their support. Several
family members attending the reunion did volunteer, and
we're hoping that even more will do so soon. Ideally,
volunteers will be easily communicated with using email.
If you are willing and able to
help with the following, we would appreciate hearing from
you:
secretary@abcfo.org
-
Genealogy research steering
committee.
-
Email and postal mail assistant.
-
Program planning committee.
-
Web site build-out
specialists.
-
Secretary-treasurer.
Finally... It was generally
agreed upon that further
genealogical research should be
pursued with the aid of one or more professional researchers
under the direction of Mildred Maw and Ara Call, along with
the soon-to-be-formed steering committee. Both Mildred
and Ara have been very active
in performing genealogical work on the Anson Bowen Call line
in the past.

2008 Reunion Recap
At the conclusion of our family reunion back in 2007, we found
that we had had failed to adequately address installation of a
new set of organization officers for the following year (i.e., May
2007
-
May 2008). But, Uncle Eran (Grandpa Call's 25th,
and youngest, child), bless his heart, came to the rescue, and
volunteered to preside on the condition that his two nephews Ara
and Duane (sons of his older brother Ara) would lend a hand.
Well, all seemed to be under control until it was just about the
time to swing into gear for the April 2008 reunion, when Uncle
Eran suddenly announced that he had accepted yet another mission
call; this time to the Dominican Republic. Thus his chief
assistant Ara was pressed into service with Duane becoming his
assistant. The short of it is that the reunion did take place,
and everything went surprisingly well.
